主讲人简介

蔡振光博士于2011年从英国爱丁堡大学心理学系获得博士学位，目前任职于香港中文大学语言学及现代语言系、大脑与心智研究所的副教授。在回港之前，他曾任东英国安格利亚大学心理学讲师（相当于终身助理教授），以及伦敦大学学院ESRC未来研究领袖研究员。蔡振光博士的主要研究为心理语言学，探讨人们如何理解、产出和学习语言的各个方面（尤其是词汇、句法和语义），使用行为方法（如启动），辅以神经科学（如脑电图和功能性磁共振成像）和计算（贝叶斯推断）技术对其进行研究。蔡振光博士在国际学术刊物（如Cognitive Psychology; Cognition; Journal of Memory and Language等）发表论文30余篇，研究领域主要涉及语言产生的认知机制、汉字书写、英汉双语句法表征模式、时空感知及其交互关系等。

讲座内容摘要

Language has been written down for thousands of years, most of the time by handwriting. The digital age has seen handwriting being replaced by digital typing as the mode of writing, which has led to much decline in people’s ability to handwrite. For example, in Chinese (a language with an opaque orthography), many people have experienced a handwriting difficulty known as 提笔忘字 or character amnesia, where they feel they know a character but forget how to handwrite it; other handwriting difficulties include declining fluency and poor penmanship. In this talk, I report a series of psycholinguistic research on character handwriting that investigates how handwriting difficulties arise, especially as a function of character-level lexical variables and handwriter-level individual differences.
